Adlib Tracker 2

I use Adlib Tracker 2 (at2) to understand what type of music can be generated by the OPL2 chip. At2 is great but if you try to look at the keybindings is a little but overwhelming. In here I will do a little summary of the basic usage of AT2.

  • With F3 you can load the module
  • With F5 you can play the whole song and F6 to pause and F7 to stop.
  • With F9 you can play the current pattern
  • With CTRL+ENTER you can go to the next pattern
  • In the main screen you can use SPACE bar to step through the pattern.
  • CTRL-P opens the pattern list
  • CTRL-I while playing, you can see the instrument list and see which instruments are activated by the pattern.
  • To silence certain channels you can use ALT 1…9 for (channels 1-9) and ALT+SHIFT 0…9 for (channels 10-19)
  • ALT-R will reset the channels
  • F1 can be used to see the help screen on any screen

  • Diode Milliampere - While listening to AT2 tracks I came across Diode Millampere (DIODEmA) who has some great tunes. I particularly like [Altair] which appeared in Psychic Pizza Connection ep. This track is also distributed with AT2 in modules/DiODEMA/altair.a2m
  • 2G1B - Another great AT2 artist who is also from Argentina. He recetly released Musica de Computadora II in Cassette!
